Five southern provinces are warned of heavy rainfalls

31 August 2009 – The Thai Meteorological Department warns 5 southern provinces of heavy rainfalls.

A severe southern monsoon still cause under rainclouds, fairly widespread thundershowers, and heavy rainfall in Ranong, Phang-nga, Satun, Trang and, Phuket. Abundant rainfalls are expected in several provinces across the country in the next few days.

The department also instructed all boat owners to avoid from proceeding offshore while all small boats should be kept ashore for the next few days.

Southwesterly winds 20-35 km/hr. Wave height 2-3 meters.
