Akapob Boonprasarn, the Sales Manager of Toyota Pearl Phuket Co.Ltd, the reseller of Toyota cars in Phuket, said that Toyota cars have gained really good feedback from consumers in Phuket as its sales rate is rising up every year.
In 2009, there were 2,140 Toyota cars sold in Phuket, consequently the company expected 2,780 car sales this year (despite the recalls and problems in other countries).
Akapob said that the recovering economic situation in Phuket directly supported the company’s sales; in the first quarter of the year, 800 of their cars had been sold. Moreover, it’s easy to run the marketing strategy since the company has new products launched all year round.
Anyway he estimated that the sales in the second quarter of the year might slightly decrease and it will rise up again after May. Recently, the company invested 70 million baht to expand its after sales and maintenance services, by also constructing a new showroom with maintenance center near Daoroong School in Wichit sub–district. This new showroom will show four cars and have a maintaining capacity of 80 cars per day. The showroom construction will be finished in November of this year.
