On 9 April 2017, The Thais believe that these spirits or guardian angels inhabit every piece of land and need to be appeased when disturbed. By providing the spirit with a home of its own, serenity and harmony will be assured within the property. If properly respected and cared for, the spirit will provide protection and ensure wealth and prosperity to the owner. As a Thai tradition, this structure is a shrine to the protective spirit of a home or place and is usually situated in an auspicious spot, most frequently in the corner of the property.
The Brahma shrine and spirit house ceremony began promptly at 9:00 am and was performed in the open-aired hotel entrance at The Sis Kata Phuket. Brahma sits on the side facing the Brahma Shrine and spirit house. Friends, relatives, The Sis Management team as well as the owner and Managing director Khun Supaporn Phatharaworanee. Also present are Khun Kanokkorn Phatharaworanee, Deputy Managing director, and Khun Phanwara Phatharaworanee Assistant Managing director stand across from the Brahma facing the Brahma Shrine and spirit house.
Incense and candles are lit, flowers are set in place, all food offerings are on the table in front of the spirit house and everyone wai and bowed their heads slightly as the Brahma began the rhythmic chanting. The Brahma sprinkled the holy water and flowers onto Phatharaworanee family, and the remaining flowers was sprinkled around the Property, as the Brahma wished happiness and good fortune for the business in the upcoming years.
