Following an afternoon of exhilarating driving, on their second day guests will enjoy the sight of top class yacht racing on the water in pure luxury, aboard the Six Senses Phuket Raceweek VIP Spectator Boat or at Evason’s idyllic private island, Bon Island, just a 10 minutes by boat from the resort. Jaguar guests will be able to unwind and relax from their days on the road at full of speed with lunch, cocktails, dinner and parties at Evason Phuket & Six Senses Spa. Jaguar’s continued commitment to the regatta also sees the motor industry giants sponsor one of the highly regarded catamarans this year, Niña, an Andaman Cabriolet, which was the victor in its first year in 2009. This year skippered by Grenville Fordham, the event organiser and rights holder, Niña will be strongly fancied to repeat its success this year with a new team on board.
Jaguar Overseas Operations, Director, Mick Razza said of the sponsorship; “It is with great pleasure that Jaguar will once again be showcasing the new range at Six Senses Phuket Raceweek 2010. In our inaugural year as co-sponsor in 2009 we saw a remarkable rise in sales off the back of our experiential marketing at the event. We deal with marketing strategies worldwide and with Paul Poole (South East Asia) Co., Ltd. we saw a first class 360° campaign that rivals any of the best platforms we have used in the past. We look forward with anticipation for another great week’s regatta at Phuket in July and showcasing this brilliant new car to the Asian market!”
Six Senses Phuket Raceweek sees competitors engage in battle on the magical waters off Phuket’s south east coast during four days of high octane and adrenaline pumping racing at the ‘Summer Season’ regatta from the 21st – 25th July 2010. The regatta is held under the auspices of the Ao Chalong Yacht Club, with the support of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Sports Authority of Thailand and the Yacht Racing Association of Thailand.
Six Senses Phuket Raceweek is organised by Image Asia Events Co., Ltd., who will draw upon their vast experience with the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta, Koh Samui Regatta and Phuket International Marine Expo (PIMEX) to create an event that perfectly showcases the region and the sport. Paul Poole (South East Asia) Co., Ltd has represented the commercial sponsorship and partnership marketing of the event since 2007 and has been instrumental in its growth to one of the foremost and most highly regarded regattas in the Asian yachting calendar. The company successfully brokered Jaguar’s Co-sponsorship in 2009 and their repeat sponsorship for 2010 and has been key in arranging Jaguar’s launch in its four years representing the regatta.
Six Senses Phuket Raceweek also marks the opening leg of the Asian Yachting Grand Prix (AYGP). A selection of top class racing events, AYGP sees the finest teams compete over the season in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines as well as Thailand.
The resplendent Evason Phuket & Six Senses Spa’s lower sea view terrace will serve as the Six Senses Phuket Raceweek HQ and the home to the nightly after-race parties, which see competitors and spectators unwind. The hotel is set amongst 64 acres of beautifully landscaped tropical parklands, gardens and infinity pools looking out to the stunning views of the Andaman Sea.
