For the third year in a row, Angsana Laguna Phuket is joining hundreds of millions of people across the globe on Saturday 29th March. In honor of the World Wildlife Fund’s Earth Hour, Angsana Laguna Phuket and its guests will voluntarily go dark from 8:30 to 9:30 pm local time. Affiliated venues, including Angsana Laguna Phuket’s main resort, back-of-house lights, guest’s rooms, six restaurants and XANA beach club will participate in Earth Hour by switching off non-essential lights and illuminations.
Angsana Laguna Phuket’s commitment to protecting natural resources is aligned with Banyan Tree’s Group Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) philosophy to “embrace the environment”. The resort’s light shutdown during Earth Hour will represent a 25% energy saving compared to the normal energy usage. All front line associates of the resort will wear black T-shirts with the official Earth Hour logo in order to drive awareness for this global happening.
To celebrate the international energy saving event, Earth Hour, Angsana Laguna Phuket will hold a special Dinner in the Dark at XANA beach club using natural heat sources to cook food. During Earth Hour (8.30pm – 9.30pm), non-electrical live performances including fire dance and percussions will be the highlight during the dinner.
