Tourists flow from Indonesia’s Medan and Jakarta to Phuket
2 December 2009 – TAT Singapore Office together with Thai AirAsia organise a FAM Trip fro agencies people and media from Medan and Jakarta between 3-6 December, 2009.
55 people altogether from Medan and Jakarta will be in a Table Top Sale with Phuket’s travel entrepreneurs at Patong Resort Hotel, Patong, Phuket on December 4th before they will visit to attractions in Phuket and in neighboring Provinces on December 5th.
Mrs Bangornrat Chinaprayoon, new Director of the TAT Phuket office, said Medan and Jakarta are potential market as they are a cosmopolitan city. The visit of travel agencies and media from both cities will create more awareness. When combine with direct flights service from AirAsia, it is believed that tourists inflow to Phuket will be improved.

It is not surprising to find guests at hotels in Medan who are headed elsewhere and stopover for a day or two. With direct flights to Phuket, Thailand tourism will definitely get a boost.
