Bangornrat Shinaprayoon, the Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand’s Phuket Office, Pratuang Sorngkam, the Director of Phuket International Airport, and related sectors, welcomed the passengers of Air Asia’s first ‘Phuket-Ubonrachathani’ direct flight on 12 October.
Bangornrat said that ‘Phuket-Ubonrachathani’ flight would promote tourism in Phuket and the northeast region. Moreover, it allowed more people from the northeast to come to Phuket more easily during the current Vegetarian Festival and upcoming high season.
Aroon Leelapantisith, Phuket Station Manager of Air Asia, said that the plane was 85% full of passengers to Phuket in this first flight. The direct flight of ‘Phuket-Ubonrachathani’ would be three times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Each flight could carry 180 passengers. The flight took 1 hour 45 minutes to the destination.
