Phuket’s touristm is still OK

President of Phuket Tourist Association Mr. Somboon Jirayus said tourism situation during January – March which is Phuket’s high season, is still acceptable.

Tourist arrivals to Phuket drop this high season when compared to peak season. The occupancy will be on average around 70%. Most of the arrivals are from Europe, Russia and Scandinavia.

Mrs Ruthairat Suthitham, an entrepreneur at Kamala beach told situation on Kamala Beach is getting better referring to more visitors and more spending.

Kamala Sub-district Administrative Organisation, an organiser of Kamala Festival 2010, hope the festival will help creating glitzy tourism atmosphere. The event is set to take place on coming Jan 8-10th at Kamala Park. Activities include fishing and casting contest, football competition, mountain bike race, traditional sports, light and sound show, students’ performances and concerts from popular singers.
