Phuket still popular for tourists despite protests

Phuket still popular for tourists despite protestsA freelance travel guide named Khun Nantawan Kosai has recently said in an interview that despite the ongoing political situation in Bangkok Phuket’s high season is much the same as usual.

Khun Nantawan said “I have still been providing services with tourist from all over the world. In most cases tourists are coming to me via travel agencies and are mostly visitors from the Mediterranean. The agencies are arranging packages for each group such as cultural tourism, conservation tourism, health tourism, etc. However, Phuket Old Town is the most popular tor for tourist.

“Although the current political situation is making Thai’s in Phuket a little anxious it doesn’t affect their businesses as many travelers can now avoid Bangkok and arrive direct in Phuket. The political situation in Bangkok is a good chance for Phuket as it can show its many areas of culture and natural beauty. The airport extension is now near completion and is great alternative to avoid the chaos in the capital. However, we must ensure that the people of Phuket cooperate as good hosts to impress our visitors so that they can tell others that their experiences in Phuket were enough and they didn’t need to take a chance in going to Bangkok.”
