On July 4th 2010, at the meeting room of Phuket Tourist Police Office, Nikom Waiyaratchapanich – the Deputy Speaker of the Upper House or Senate; Worawut Rochanapanich – the President of a Sports Committee, in the Senate; and Tanyarat Atchariyachai – the President of Tourism Committee, in the Senate; and the staff of the committees visited Phuket, Phang Nga, and Krabi to collect information about the three provinces. All the information would be used in a seminar called ‘The strategy to promote Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi to be a world class hub of tourism and sport’.
Tanyarat commented that the 3 provinces have beautiful scenery, rich natural resources and unique culture. Therefore, they could offer a variety of tour options to tourists or visitors. Moreover, Phuket had been the host location for a lot of international sport tournaments e.g. the King’s Cup Regatta which was very well known by people around the world. Consequently, there was no doubt that Phuket, Phang Nga and Krabi deserved to be a hub of tourism and sport in this region.
