Phuket Airport reopens after Tsunami warning lifted

Phuket Airport reopens

On April 11th, Phuket International Airport was shut down after Tsunami warning went on causing all flights to/from Phuket to be cancelled. Thousands of remaining passengers will be transported to Phuket town. It’s reopened today at 8 AM.

Mr Pratueng Sornkham, Phuket International Airport Director, revealed after 8.6 earthquake in northern Sumatra, Indonesia yesterday, National Disaster Warning Center announced all residents to evacuate, caused the airport to be closed by 4 PM and all flights to be cancelled until 8 AM today.

For passengers who will be traveling today, Airports Authority of Thailand has already evacuated to safe ground while some was transported to Phuket town yesterday and the rest will be transported there within tonight.

Mr Pratueng also added Phuket International Airport reopens today at 8 AM.
