On July 5th 2011, Mr.Paiboon Upatising, the President of Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO) presided over the meeting about the development plan of Bang Wad and Bang Niew Dam Dams. There were many related government officers and the local residents attended the meeting to present the suggestion and idea about the development plan.
As the two dams located not far from the communities and surrounded by the stunning scenery, so it is not difficult to develop them to be the community recreational area and eco-tourism spot. Consequently, PPAO assigned Pisut Technology to design the development plan of the two dam. This will make them to be other alternatives tourist attraction in Phuket under the integrated tourism management. Mr.Paiboon said that “We have to see the design before we can fix the budget for this project. After hearing the opinions from the residents and related sector, we then can design the more detailed development plan. I think that the budget will set in 2013 budget year. Moreover, we are estimating if the water resource in Chalong can be developed to the community recreational area.
The project of turning the water resources on the island is on survey process. Besides there are two more project that will be completed by this year, the development of Toh Sae Hill, and the Dancing Fountain in the lake in front of Phuket Community College, Saphan Hin Park. For the latter project, PPAO spend 40 million baht to create the dancing fountain and it will ready to show in the festival of Loy Kratong, this year.
The story in the light and sound fountain show will be about the history of Loy Kratong festival, and other historical stories. The show will be at 7-9 p.m. Meanwhile, Songkrit Sappakit, the Managing Director of Pisut Technology, said that “There will be 4 zones in the project of Bang Wad including parking and activity area, adventure activity area, accommodation and seminar area, and local plant area. For Bang Niew Dam Dam, there development is divided into 4 zones as well, the convention zone, the park zone, the activity zone, and the accommodation zone. However, this is not the final conclusion of the development since we have to listen to the idea of the locals and related sectors.
The project detail may be adjusted. The budget to spend on this project will be about 200-500 million. It will take 2 months more to conclude to conclude the budget.
