Koonyapan Dangkham, the Director of the Support Arts and Crafts International Centre of Thailand (a public organization), said that the centre would hold the 1st Arts & Craft Festival in Phuket during September 2nd-8th 2010. The event would be held in the area of the grand hall, Central Festival Phuket Department Store. It aims to honor HM the Queen Sirikit who established the National Arts and Craft project and to continue HM the Queen’s intention to train people in making Thai arts and crafts which could be their alternative career as well as to support Thai art and craft products in international markets.
There would be a press conference for the event on August 24th 2010 at 2pm. The press conference would be held in the event hall, 2nd floor of Central Festival Department Store and would be presided over by Wichai Praisangob, the Governor of Phuket. The sample arts and crafts products and traditional performances from four different parts of Thailand would be shown at the event as well.
