On September 16th, there was a Memorandum Of Understanding or MOU signed between Phuket Wittayalai School and Government Savings Bank in the co-project called ‘School Bank’.
‘School Bank’ is a like a real bank operated by the students. The bank operation and saving aims to make the students understand how important saving money is as well as to promote a saving culture among the students. It also was a first step for them to take and keep a responsibility, by ‘working’ in different sections of the bank.
The ‘School Bank’ in Phuket Wittayalai School is supported with training and equipment by the Government Savings Bank.
Now there are 423 ‘School Banks’ nationwide with 800,000 saving accounts that are worth 400 million baht. Phuket Wittayalai School is the 24th school running a ‘School Bank’ under the supervision of Government Savings Bank Region 16 and is the 424th ‘School Bank’ of Thailand.
