On May 31th 2013, Advisor to PPAO-Mr.Somsak Rattanasanyanuphap, acting on behalf of Chief Executive of PPAO – Mr.Paiboon Upatising presided over the opening of “Buddha Children Camp 2013” for students of the PPAO Ban Mai Reab School(Tuntikowit Bamroong). The camp was held from 31st May – 2nd June 2013, at Chalermprakiet Patinissakkho Dharma Practice and Mental Development Center, Karon, Phuket. There were 191 teachers and students who participated in the training project.
The camp was the 2nd “Buddha Children Camp 2013” to be held by PPAO for students affiliated with a PPAO school and was aimed at enabling youths to understand and use moral and ethical Buddhist teachings in everyday life. Furthermore, it is hoped that once they understand the Buddhist roles, they will steer clear of drugs and do good things for themselves and society leading to peace for the country.
The first “Buddha Children Camp 2013” was attended by 168 students from PPAO Maung School; the third will be for 170 students from Talad Nue School. Each camp features a range of Buddhist related activities such as a dharma talk entitled “Quality of Life Development Theory”, Buddhist theology, dharma studying and more.
