Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO) and Nanmee Books Co.Ltd is joining hands to host a book festival called “Phuket Reading and Learning Festival” during August 27th -29th 2010 at the PPAO’s community hall. The festival is being held in order to encourage people to read more books following the government’s policy.
Paiboon Upattising, PPAO’s president, said that Phuket was a tourist ‘open’ island, therefore Phuket youth had to have a lot of knowledge in order to grow to be good quality adults. PPAO and Nanmee Books had realized that books are an important weapon to sharp their intelligence. Consequently, the festival is planned to be held on the mentioned days. He would like to invite school executives, teachers, students, and Phuket residents to join the event. Apart from various books being sold in the event, on August 27th 2010, there would be a workshop provided by Nanmee Books team named ‘Best Practice’ to show people how to encourage themselves, their friends, and their families to read.
