The world-renowned Brazilian futsal training camps for aspiring young soccer players comes to Thailand when the Phuket International Academy (PIA) hosts two holiday camps for juniors at its exclusive Sports and Leisure Club (SLC) in July.
Brazilian Soccer Schools (BSS) has endorsed the PIASLC as an official partner in Thailand and the club has gone to great lengths to ensure a world-class futsal field has been installed at the facility to play home to its BSS Phuket school.
The two five-day camps will commence on July 5 and July 12 respectively. Both camps are aimed at boys and girls aged between the ages of five and 18 with a structured syllabus and training programme specific to each age group and each ability level. Training is skill-centred, task-focused and has 100 % engagement. The sessions last for four hours each day and cost THB900 per day or THB4,000 for the five-day week.
Martin Hill, who is head coach of Brazilian Soccer Schools Phuket, will conduct the camps. He has high-level Football Association (UK) and National Soccer Coaches Association America qualifications.
“The camps consist of our unique skills-oriented training regime based around the game of Futebol De Salao (FDS), including moves to beat players, turning, balances and traps, passing, ball-to-air, juggling and other core skills,” Mr Hill said.
“This exciting initiative will provide a major boost to Thai and international enthusiasts and further raise the profile of the sport in the Kingdom.”
As well as learning the skills of the game, students will receive an official Brazilian Soccer Schools tee-shirt and have the chance to win various medals and trophies over the five days for their achievements and participation.
The July camps will be the first of many camps the PIASLC conducts for children throughout the year and as well as soccer, there will be swimming, triathlon and rugby camps as the PIASLC seeks to become the premier sports and leisure facility in the region.
