“The Phuket Oilfield Classic (POC) stemmed from the interest of 18 avid golfers many of whom are involved in the oil and gas industry in one way or another and who came to Phuket on the 14th November 2008. Such was the enjoyment of not only the company shared but the fantastic golf courses played, that everyone decided we should make this a yearly event and invite many other like minded fellow oilfield related colleagues to join in and so The Phuket Oilfield Classic (POC) has grown to be a regular fixture in the Golfing Calendar.
POC aims to support children’s charities on the island and over the last two years have raised nearly one million Baht for Phuket Sunshine Village. Our attention now turns to the children’s charity ‘Phuket Has Been Good To Us’, another worthy cause which will be supported by us for 2011 and 2012. So come along and help us help the future generations of our world to grow up knowing that your generosity has helped them achieve something which they might not have been able to do, had it not been for you.
The 3rd POC is now open for registration. We have two of Phuket’s top golf courses, Blue Canyon Lakes Course and Red Mountain Golf Course, a better standard of host hotel venue, Novotel Phuket Resort in Patong, and no price increase, what more could one ask for?
The structure of the Sponsorship packages for next year has allowed us to keep our prices sensible in light of the economic challenges we are facing these days, and I am sure everyone will agree they would rather ensure the price was kept as low as possible instead of increasing the price to cover goodies. I feel very confident that with the sponsorship deals we have for next year we will manage to get excellent goodie bags together and therefore have some fantastic items to take away and remember the event by.
Please don’t fret there is plenty of time to get your deposits in as December is still a few months away, but giving you notice now allows for booking time off work and flights from your international destinations to Phuket. Only last week Paul Agnew from Diamond Offshore sent me an e-mail from USA to confirm the dates so he could get the ball rolling at work and book his flights – “Paul it will be great to see you again and thanks for your support”
We are still in the process of getting the local support from companies on the Island who want to offer all our participants and their families some fantastic deals while you are in Phuket either before, during or after the event and don’t forget the Thai New Year “Songkran” falls in Phuket on 13th and 14th April and is a must see and do event that everyone will love from the very young to the very old like myself. Please read and choose the packages carefully if you intend to stay out-with the host hotel deal.
Ok folks I look forward to hearing from you soon and I will keep an eye out for all your registrations, please pass this around your contact lists so we get a good field of players for next year, and if you are interested in Sponsorship please get back to me soonest as I am sure they will go fast.
