Thai movie star Ananda Everingham has a new starring role – charity ambassador at the Laguna Phuket International Marathon.
The highly-acclaimed screen actor will be taking part in the 5K Charity Walk at the popular fun run in paradise on Sunday, 13th June.
Ananda’s fans can sign up for the 5K Walk and join him raising money for the Laguna Phuket International Marathon’s designated beneficiary, Baan Jao Krua School in Phang Nga.
Laguna Phuket has long supported local schools, however, for the past three years the CSR Committee has worked to restore health and safety to an underprivileged school in Phang Nga province,this school is now in a position to sustain itself. As one project closes another opens and Laguna Phuket has now selected Baan Jao Krua School for sustainable development. Ananda will be among more than 5,000 local and international participants at the annual event, which features a full 42K Marathon, 21K Half Marathon, 10.5K Fun Run and 2K Children’s Run, as well as the 5K Walk for charity.

“Ananda is sure to be a great attraction for our many Thai participants and spectators and he will bring star quality to the whole day.”
Ananda said: “I’m really looking forward to being part of a fun event which also has a serious purpose to raise money for a deserving cause.
I hope to see my fans joining me in this effort.”
Recognised as one of Thailand’s top acting talents, Ananda began his career as a youngster and became a teen idol with his first film “Anda Kup Fahsai.”
His transition into more mature roles started with the Asian hit “Shutter.” Aside from “Shutter,” he has starred in the horror-comedy, “Ghost Delivery” and the teen-slasher movie, “303 Fear Faith Revenge.”
In 2005, he starred in the Singaporean romance film, “The Leap Years.” In 2007, he played the lead roles in the romantic dramas “Me…Myself”, and “Bangkok Time.”
He tested his boundaries with a stint in the indie film scene starring in “Ploy” and “Pleasure Factory”, both officially selected films for the Cannes Film Festival 2007. The same year he was awarded with the Star Submit Asia award by the Pusan International Festival. In 2008, he won Best Actor in the Thailand National Film Association Awards (Supannahong Awards) for his role in “Happy Birthday”.
Ananda’s many films are distributed and screened around the Asian region and he is regularly voted as the Thailand’s top male lead by the public and many of Thailand’s top magazines.
He is also the creative director of his own media arts and event company, Halo Productions, that has produced the critically acclaimed “Good Morning Luang Prabarng”, the first privately funded Lao film in over 35 years. His next project will be as executive producer for the film “Hiso.” And later this year he will feature in two films “Chua Fah Din Salai” and “The Red Eagle.”
