The Thailand Championship for Elite Men was held on 8-14 September in Bangkok at the Mall Ngamvongvan department store.
The Phuket Amateur Boxing Club (PABC) organized local boxers to join the boxing tournament competition for Elite men, as the most excellent boxers all around Thailand came to the competition.

PABC, one of the amateur boxing teams, has sent a team every year since 2004, but only youth boxers from Phuket, and they did very well, with one boxer from the team, Nirut Nintasing, in a semi final. He had bad luck with punches in the last seconds of the last round at 2.59 minutes, when the Phuket boxer led 4:3 and his opponent punched direct to the Phuket boxer and the points came to a draw 4:4; then the Phuket boxer lost on regular points 5:4 but at least he got a bronze medal. The Phuket team consisted of:

  1. “Jong” Sujinda Kingsrida 52.kg
  2. “James” Tanawat Pinkaew 56 kg.
  3. “Dear” Sorawut Kangyanium 60 kg.
  4. “Rut”  Nirut Nintasing 69 kg.
