On July 20th 2010, at Cherngtalay Wittaya “Juti – Kong Anusorn” School, Mr Jizhong Wei, the president of Federation of International Volleyball or FIVB presided over a hand-over ceremony of a new volleyball court constructed with a FIVB budget and 100 volleyballs to Cherngtalay Wittaya School. FIVB also handed over a score signboard to the volleyball court in Ban Sisamran School in Ranong Province, and one in Phuket City Municipality.
After the five provinces in Andaman region were hit by the tsunami in 2004, FIVB had supported schools in the area with 35 million baht of budget in order to improve their buildings and sport facilities, especially volleyball courts. Every affected province got 6-7 million baht to work on this. FIVB also gave 100 volleyballs to schools in the mentioned areas and as well provided occasional volleyball instruction and volleyball court maintenance in those schools.
