On November 12th, at the Garden Hotel, Guangzhou, China, there was a meeting of the Olympic Council of Asia or OCA. The main agenda of the meeting was to select the places to be hosts in their sports tournaments. After the meeting, Gen. Yutthasak Sasiprapa, the President of Thailand Olympic Committee, said that they agreed to let Phuket be the host location of the 4th Asian Beach Games in 2014.
Gen Yutthasak said that there was a contract signing on November 13th. In the signing ceremony, Choompol Silapaarcha, the Minister of Tourism and Sport, Tri Akardache, the Governor of Phuket, and Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah, the president of OCA took part in the contract signing ceremony. The deposit money of 10,000 U.S. dollars was paid on the day. In next 30 days, about 290,000 dollars will be paid for the contract to host. This was equivalent to about 9 million baht.
After that there would be two committees responsible for the Games with the Prime Minister as Chairman of the Organizing Committee. It would budget about 500 million baht to arrange the Games. The Asian Beach Games includes about 15 types of sports.
