Phuket’s “Kerriodoxa elegans Dransfield" projectOn 14th February 2013 at Tonsai waterfall, Phuket Governor Mr.Mritree Inthusut acted as chief of a project which saw a number of white back leaf palms planted in the forest at the area surrounding the waterfall. The project was set up for HM Princess Sirintorn and saw a number of Phuket students and people involved.

Mr.Pongchary Cheurhom Head of Khaoprateaw National Park said “On 18th December 1996 Princess Sirintorn came to Phuket to join in with a project planting the palms, a plant which has been found deep in the jungles of Phuket for decades. After this event, the Princess decided to plant more of the palms in areas which where they can be reached and seen more easily. It is hoped that they will remain an attraction to Phuket for many years to come.”
