On 8th Aug 2012 at Phuket Provincial Prison, Ms.Nalinee Akaradecha – President of Phuket Red Cross, together with Dr.Sommai Preechasilp – Deputy Governor of Phuket, Ms.Rojjana Raktaengam – President of Phuket Great Mother Institute, Mr.Tapin Nichanon – Phuket Provincial Prison Commander, and members of Phuket Red Cross provided catering for 307 female inmates of Phuket Prison.
The activity provides female inmates with a royal banquet and is organized by the Council of Thailand’s Social Welfare. The banquet is held every year to mark the occasion of Mother’s Day and pleases the female inmates.
Ms.Nalinee told female inmates “I hope you all do your best in order to be allowed out soon. And after you get out, I hope you all will have learnt your lesson and behave as a good citizen should. I know all of you want to go home and return to see your mom or your child, and I hope everyone will be able to do this soon.”
The menu consisted of rice, spicy fried Sator, stir-fried noodles (Pad-woon-sen) and ice cream. The prisoners showed their gratitude at the end of the banquet by singing a song entitled “Kha Nam Nom” (The value of mom’s milk).
