On the evening of Saturday 22nd June 2013, Phuket’s The KEE Resort & Spa hosted an “Age of Celebration” Chivas Whisky dinner party at the Patong hotel’s KEE Sky Lounge & Restaurant. The event, which was attended by special guests of honour Australian Honorary Consul – Larry Cunningham and British Honorary Consul Martin Carpenter MB, and hosted by Chivas Master – Mr Teera Weerawan, featured a sensational five course dinner prepared by KEE Executive Chef Sonthaya Kaewpradit. Each of the culinary delights was accompanied with a vintage Chivas Scotch whisky and entertainment performed by The KEE’s fantastic in-house band ‘Plug & Play’. There was even a performance from the presumed deceased Elvis, whom i for one can confirm is well and truly alive and performing regularly here in Phuket.
The Appetizer, Seared Cajun Tuna & Rocket, Apple Salad, and Soup, Chilled Cucumber Soup with Spicy Crab, were served with the rich & smooth Chivas Regal 12 yrs.
The Main “Surf & Turf” Course of Aromatic Roasted Rack of Lamb with Sichuan Pepper and Seared Sea Scallop served with Warm Balsamic Sauce and Mango Salsa were accompanied with the uniquely rich and multi-layered Chivas Regal 18 yrs.
The grand finale, Chef Sonthaya’s trademark dessert, Warm Chocolate Volcano was accompanied with the rare and exclusive Chivas Regal 25 yrs poured by Teera and the management team of The KEE.
The rooftop party finished in style, live old-school jazz and blues was played and guests danced away until the early hours of the morning.
