In the spirit of the Songkran festival, a traditional ritual and water war parade, as well as extensive family entertainment await at Angsana Laguna Phuket. The activities are free of charge and open to the resort’s guests and outside visitors.
On the morning of 13th, the Songkran festival programme will begin at Angsana Laguna Phuket, where guests are invited to join a celebratory religious session at the Poolside Garden from 12pm. The gentle pouring of fragrant water over the hands symbolizes a gesture to wash away bad luck, while paying respect to elders. The festivities will then continue with Thai dance and ‘water war parade’ at Poolside Gardens of Angsana Laguna Phuket at 1pm. Guests will then join the procession to XANA with Attica Beach Club.
XANA with Attica Beach Club will feature a host of fun-filled water based activities for families including a water war, a beach rain dance, Miss Songkarn competition and Muay Thai performance. The beach activities will then culminate into a pool party where local DJs and EssentialIbiza’s Iain Thomson will be spinning tunes to celebrate Songkran from 3.15pm until late into the night.
A day-into-night barbecue by the beach is also set to spice up the festival and will feature a variety of Thai and international delicacies. The barbecue is priced at THB 1,100 net per person from 12pm to 9.30pm.
All Angsana in-house guests checking in between 11 and 13 April will be greeted with a Thai water ritual ceremony, in preparation for the much anticipated Thai New year celebration.
