Vichit Municipality and Phuket Police train youths against drugs

On June 15th 2010, at the conference room of Chalermphrakiat Somdetphrasrinakarindha School, Pol. Lt. Gen. Pitak Jarusombat, the commander of the 8th Region Provincial Police, presided over the opening of the training called ‘Relative Youth against Drugs’ generation 1/2010. The training was held under cooperation between Phuket Provincial Police, Vichit Municipality, and the committee of police performance inspections.

Pol.Col. Wanchai Ekpornpit Phuket City Police Superintendent, said that the youths were the key of the country’s future; therefore, we all need to prevent them from using drugs. He stated there was an increasing tendency of drugs trade and drugs using in Thailand. In 2008, there were 605,095 people arrested in drugs cases; most of them were aged 15–24 years old. The drugs mostly used by them were amphetamine and marijuana.
