During a visit to Bang Koo Shrine, Tri Akaradecha, the Governor of Phuket, expressed his concern about lighting firecrackers on the last night of the Vegetarian Festival. He had assigned the related officers and security volunteers to keep an eye on them and be strict on this.

He also suggested that people who attend or witness the ‘God Sending’ procession at night should wear items like ear plugs, and face cloths that can protect them from firecrackers, sounds and lights.

The processions start in the early evening and go on until about midnight at Sapan Hin.
