In a ministerial meeting on September 28th, Manit Wattanasane, the Permanent Secretary to the Minister of Interior, presented the names of the 48 government officers who would be appointed as the Governors of different provinces with some relocated to govern other provinces.
For Phuket, Tri Akaradecha, a Vice of Governor of Phuket, was appointed to be the next Governor of Phuket replacing Wichai Praisa-ngob, the present governor who would retire on September 30th 2010. Tri Akaradecha was born on October 7th 1951. He got a B.A.(Politics) and Master of Public Administration from U.S.A. He passed many training sessions related to government work including the 32nd district chief training, the 33rd Office of the Attorney General training and others. He began his career as an Assistant District Office in Srisachanalai District, Sukhothai, in 1976. In 2001, he became the Chief of Kampangsan District, Nakhonprathom. In 2005, he was a Deputy Governor of Roi Et before he moved to be a Vice Governor of Phuket in 2006.
Another Vice Governor of Phuket Teerayuth Aiumtrakul was appointed to be the Governor of Surat Thani. This was the first time that two Vice Governors from Phuket have been appointed to be provincial governors.
