Thailand is facing blood shortage nationwide; Phuket Regional Blood Centre asks for urgent help

The political unrest in Bangkok is causing a blood shortage. The National Blood Centre & Thai Red Cross Society, does not have enough donated blood to distribute across the country; Phuket Regional Blood Centre therefore has to help provide blood to six provinces in the south, which are facing a shortage of all blood types.

Phuket Regional Blood Centre needs your help: blood donations can be made everyday at 1) Phuket Regional Blood Centre located close to Phuket Provincial Employment Office on Rattanakosin 200 Pee Road in Phuket city. Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8.30 – 16.30 hrs., Tuesday and Thursday from 8.30-20.00 hrs., Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays from 9.00-15.00 hrs. For more info, please call 076 251178 or 086 8804445. 2) Bangkok Phuket Hospital on Yaowarat Road in Phuket city on 25th May, 2010 from 13.00-15.00 hrs. 3) Vachira Phuket Hospital also on Yaowarat Road in Phuket city.
