TAT Phuket office launches brochure on occasion of the 5th tsunami anniversary

TAT Phuket designed the new brochure to provide information for travellers to easily visit the tsunami memorials. They can follow the route where tsunami memorials are located ranging from “Nara” the dog statue by Japanese artist Yoshimoto Nara on Patong beach, a sculpture named Jit Jakawan (Heart of the Universe) by Thai artist Udorn Jiraksa on Kamala beach, a sculpture “Stabile” by the Swedish artist Lars Englund at Khao Lak, a sculpture “Hold Me Close” by French sculptor Louise Bourgeois at Hat Nopparat National Park, to memorial park at Loh Dalum Bay, Phi Phi island.

Phuket province will organise a commemorative event on 26th December, 2009 at Loma (Dolphin) Park, on Patong Beach. A religious ceremony will be in the morning and in the evening will be a candlelit “Light up Phuket” ceremony from 18.00-19.00.
