On July 23rd 2010, at Sarasin 2 Bridge, in Tah Chatchai of Thalang district, Phuket, Teerayuth Aiumtrakul, a Vice Governor of Phuket, followed up the progress of the new bridge construction. The Director of Phuket Highways Office and other related government staff visited the bridge as well.
Teerayuth said that there were 331 days left in the construction contract. It was estimated that the bridge would be finished in June 2011. The bridge starts at the highway road no.402 in the area of Baan Tha Chatchai, Phuket and finishes at Baan Tanoon in Phang Nga. It was located between the old Sarasin Bridge and Thao Tehpkrasattri-Thao Srisoonthorn Bridge. The bridge has 2 lanes, is 12.20 meters wide and 655 meters long, with other improvements. The total budget taken in the construction is 377 million baht. It connects with 4 lane roads from Kok Kloi to Phuket and should also make water transportation underneath easier.
