Phuket set rules and regulations for Sarakul Stadium useOn 25th November 2013 at the meeting room of Surakul Stadium, PPAO Deputy Executive – Mr. Soratham Jinda together with PPAO President – Pradit Sangjan, Minister of Phuket Sport Association and PPAO member – Mr. Sarot Angkanapirat, and PPAO members – Mr.Kamron Panthip, Mr.Boon-aum Auejittrakul, Mr.Sontaya Suntornrak joined a meeting to discuss the management and organization of Phuket’s Sarakul Stadium.

The aim of the meeting was for ensure that everyone knows the rules and regulations regarding the maintenance services for the stadium, to ensure that the stadium is well taken care of, and that the pitch is well maintained and not damaged during sporting events.

Surakul Stadium is there to be used by all Phuket athletes and any business who wishes to use it. It is also to remain as a stadium which can be used for national or international competitions. However, prior to using the stadium for any purpose, those wish to do so must read the stadium’s rules and regulations and must submit a written request to the PPAO President or the Phuket Division of Tourism and Sports Administration 7 working days in advance. In addition, the applicant must pay a deposit for the use of the stadium of 5,000 baht per day fee, 10,000 baht deposit for any damage that might be caused, and 1,500 baht per hour for electricity. There is also 2,000 baht fee for cleaning and garbage collection after an event. All funds should be paid to PPAO in cash 2 days in advance of an event.

With regards to sporting events held at Sarakul Stadium, it is only available for the final rounds of regional competitions or for an international level event. It is strictly unavailable for professional practice purposes, ongoing competitions and use of the synthetic track is prohibited. For those using the track for exercise they used refrain from using lanes 1, 2 and 3 as these are reserved for athletes representing the province or involved in national competitions.

Fireworks, flammable liquids, alcohol and smoking are all strictly prohibited. The pitch should not be marked in any way and no vehicles are allowed onto the pitch. Should any damage occur during a event the lessee will lose their deposit.
