PPAO has opens it public transportation called ‘Potong’ to serve Phuket resident in 2 routes, Big C Department Store – Phuket Vocational College, and Big C Department Store – Si Mum Muang Market. Potong has received very good feedback from both residents and tourists as it makes it more convenient to travel around the island.
To expand the service area to cover and meet the needs of the residents and tourists, PPAO opened a new Potong route, Sapan Hin- Koh Sirae on May 5th 2011. The service time is 6.00am – 7.00 pm daily. There are bus stops every 15 minutes along the route. The route was inspected by the President of PPAO, Mr.Paiboon Upatising, and executives of the organisation.
Mr. Paiboon said “This new Potong route is another success for PPAO public transportation Phuket. After being open for only a few days, we received good feed back from the residents living along the route. They said they could travel more conveniently and had to pay only 10 baht per time. Moreover, students can use the service without charge.”
Meanwhile, Mr.Somkiat Siraksasin, Manager of Potong Trasportation, said the new route was opened based on the need survey of the residents. He was glad to have been chosen to look after this project of PPAO. He expected the new route of Potong to get as good feedback as the previous two routes.
The cars in the Potong project are well maintained by professional mechanics. GPS systems were installed in every car, in order to check the real time location and the speed of the cars.
