PM orders examination of buildings in Phuket

(17 April 2012) Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra has ordered governmental officials to examine the damage caused to buildings in Phuket after the earthquake on April 16th, and has asked residents to keep updating the news.

Due to the 4.3 magnitude earthquake in Thalang, Phuket, Yingluck Shinawatra has rushed officials to inspect the durability of tall buildings in Phuket and to improve the warning systems.

The Prime Minister mentioned that the warning systems didn’t go off on April 16th, because the systems depend on the magnitude of the earthquake. However, officials will be checking equipment to see if there any improvements are needed.
