Phuket to host ‘Phuket, We pray for Japan and Southern Thailand Concert’

Phuket, We pray for Japan and Southern Thailand ConcertOn April 2nd 2011 at Royal Phuket City Hotel, Mr.Tri Akaradecha, the Governor of Phuket, Mr.Rewat Areerob, a Phuket member of the House of Representative, Miss Somjai Suwansupana, the Mayor of Phuket City Municipality, Mrs.Bangornrat Shinaprayoon, the Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand Phuket Office, together publicised the charity concert called ‘Phuket, We pray for Japan and Southern Thailand’ which will be held in the area of Thalang Road, Phuket Town, on April 9th-10th 2011.

Mr.Tri said “There will be donation booths to generate money to help people in Japan and Southern Thailand from 7.00 p.m. – 10.00 p.m. Donation slips can be used to receive a tax reduction. There will also be food stalls and local product booths along the road.

The event will be broadcast live nationwide via Channel 11. There will many famous Thai singers coming to sing at this event. We expect we will get about 6 million baht donated at the event. We have already received 2.3 million baht donated directly at the provincial house and the bank account opened for this matter.”

Anyone who wants to donate money to help people in the South of Thailand can transfer the money to Krungthai Bank account number 805-0-39733-5. For people who want to help the Japanese, the money can be transferred to Krungthai Bank account number  805-0-41578-3. There are also donation boxes in government offices around Phuket and there will be a donation event held at Royal Phuket City Hotel on April 10th.
