Phuket to train dogs to help police in drug investigations

Supachai Potnukul, Muang Phuket District Officer, said that a lot of people coming to Phuket have increased the spread of narcotic drugs on the island. Therefore, Muang Phuket District Office planned to use trained dogs to help the police find drugs.

Recently, the officers brought in two-month-old Labrador and Spitz dogs to be trained. Once the two dogs are three months old, they will be sent to the Phuket International Dog School on Koh Sirey to be trained in drug finding. After six months training, these two dogs will help the police find drugs and at crime scenes.

Supachai added that in June, the district office will also support a music event to be held in Phuket town to head youth away from drugs.
