Phuket motorbike taxi drivers to help crime prevention

On March 11th, 2010, Pol.Maj.Pikad Tantipong, police chief of Region 8, presided over a training briefing called “Motorbike Taxi Network Help Crime Prevention” held by Phuket Provincial Police. This network has over 200 motorbike taxi drivers in Muang district area as members.

During training, these people were briefed about the existing political situation in Thailand, suspicious people or items observation and recognition, and the way to inform the officers. This project not only helps the police to prevent crime or violence better, but it also helps to form a good relationship between the officers and local people.
