PPAO holds the 3rd Phuket Local Food Festival to promote island’s tourism

Phuket Local Food FestivalOn January 20th 2011 at 19.00 p.m. Mr.Paiboon Upatising, the President of Phuket Provincial Administrative Organization (PPAO) made a statement in the opening ceremony of the 3rd Phuket Local Food Festival held in the area of the central stage, Saphan Hin Park, Phuket. The opening ceremony was presided over by Mr.Tri Akaradecha, the Governor of Phuket. The were a lot of honorable guests, Phuket residents, and tourists joining the event.

Phuket cuisines are another thing attracting people to Phuket. PPAO uses this strength in local eating to promote the island’s tourism by arranging the annual event Phuket Local Food Festival. For this time, the event is held during January 20th-24th 2011. Apart from variety of local food, there are a lot activities such as the world biggest pot cooking, Miss Phuket Beauty Competition, Mom-daughter Beauty Competition, Live Music from Ko Khai and students from PPAO’s school, cooking demonstrations, and fruit craving, Clean Food Good Taste exhibition, shops and restaurants. PPAO believes that this event will create the new image of travelling in Phuket to the tourists.

The event has been well supported by both government and private sectors.” Meanwhile Tri Akaradecha, the Governor of Phuket said that not only the beaches, Phuket original cuisines can also be another selling point of the island’s tourism.
