Pratuang Sornkham, the Director of Phuket International Airport, said on 3 November that the airport staff have donated money to help people affected by floods in the southern and northeastern regions of Thailand. The airport staff also conducted donation drives in the departure and arrival areas. There were lots of Thai and foreign passengers and shops in the airport donating the money.
He said that donation boxes are placed in many areas of the airport. He also added that flights to Samui Island were cancelled for two days due to floods there, so there were about 100 passengers stuck in the airport, with 90% of them being foreigners. The airport staff had told them the reasons and they all understood the situation.
