Phuket hosts seminar on Free Trade Area and Business Opportunities in South of Thailand

Poonsri concluded that the last seminar about this had indicated that 0% tax agreements made between ASEAN members including Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei and Singapore, would be advantageous for trading between Thailand and ASEAN countries. It’s estimated that there could be approximately 25% growth in business in this region.

In addition, there was a commitment that the member countries must let ASEAN investors hold 70% of stock in hospitality business by 2015 and adjust the laws hindering investors to do business in such countries, especially by letting foreigners hold 51% of shares in all hospitality businesses.

Therefore DTN has been holding seminars around Thailand to make people understand and adjust their way of doing business, following the world economic situation and listen to their opinions before integrating it into Thailand’s economic strategy.
