Phuket honours outstanding sportspersons, coaches and clubs

Phuket honours outstanding sportspersons, coaches and clubsHe continued: “For the previous year, Phuket Sports Association has organized many sports activities, and 2014 will be no different. Projects planned are: provincial sports events; training for sports professionals; hiring coaches; potential development for sportspeople; training courses in practical sports sciences; donation of funds and sports equipment to various clubs; and entering sportspersons into many competitive events. All these necessitate a large budget and we therefore thank PPAO who, under the leadership of Mr. Paiboon Upattising, who realizes the importance of sports, has been our long-time financial supporter for many years now. Thanks also go to the Sports Authority of Thailand, under the leadership of its Director Kanokpan Joolakasem and his team of executives, who liase with Director of Phuket Thailand Sports Center Wiraj Pathi and his team to always support our cause. We also thank all relevant sectors both governmental and private, who have been our kind supporters thus far.”

Phuket honours outstanding sportspersons, coaches and clubsMr. Paiboon said: “I have seen a lot of good work by the President of Phuket Sports Association and his team who use sports as tools to connect government, private and local administration sectors. We gather here today to honor young sportspersons. Being a role model is about setting examples rather than teaching, and we are doing just that by being here today. PPAO has always been a supporter of sports activities as many of our members have been sportspeople in the past or still are. Sportsmanship is a quality that is always present no matter how old you are, and part of that quality is helping others. I believe the young people here today will be impressed by the goodwill shown to them by many sectors. We believe all sportspersons and young people are the province’s great assets and we are proud of their success.”

1 Mr Paiboon continued: “I thank all who organized this ceremony, especially the operation committee headed by President of Phuket Sports Association Mr. Saroj Angkanapilas who is fully aware of the value of national sports. Sportspeople must possess sportsmanship, which is not just about winning, but winning the hearts and minds of others. To compete like this is a life-long activity. I congratulate all sportspersons here, even if some of you are not named outstanding personalities. As representatives of Phuket, you have all made us proud. Finally, I’d like to thank all relevant sectors who are here to honor our sporting best.”
