Phuket City launched ‘Phuket Free Wi-Fi’ in 2 public parks

Somjai Suwanspapana, the Mayor of Phuket City Municipality (PCM), said that Phuket and TOT Public Company Limited is providing two more free Wi-Fi spots in the area of the Queen’s Park on Thalang Road and Sapan Hin Park in order to allow people, including tourists,  in Phuket City to get an opportunity to find out online information as well as encourage people to use more IT to enhance their knowledge.

PCM is spending 180,000 baht a year on this free Wi-Fi project provided by TOT under a three year service contract. People who want to use the free Wi-Fi can get a username and password at the two mentioned parks. PCM said that the free Wi-Fi project could serve 600 users a month. In each month, a user can use it for only two hours of free internet, but there would be a 24 hours a day service, which started since 1 October.
