Phuket expects 2.5 bn Baht from Amway seminars

(18 April 2012) On April 15th, the first group of Chinese Amway sales representatives arrived in Phuket, greeted by Thai dancers and VIPs. From now until May 14th, 18,000 Amway delegates will arrive to the island and Phuket Office of Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expects Phuket to gain 2.5 billion Baht from the seminars.

“We hope the Amway sales representatives will be impressed with our hospitality and the accommodation, seminar halls, and activities Laguna Group and Phuket FantaSea have provided for them.” Deputy Governor, Mr Somkiat Sangkaosuttirak, said.

Bangornrat Shinaprayoon, Director of Phuket TAT commented “It’s a good chance for Phuket tourism to grow by hosting these seminars as China is now one of our main target groups.”
