Kiattisak Pillawas, the principal of Satri Phuket School, commented that the 15 Year Free Education Policy of the government shows the diligence of the government to develop schools in Thailand to reach international standards. Now there are 500 schools with international standards nationwide. These schools have modern science rooms and they are systematically managed under strategic human resource development, new technology management in instruction media, curriculum improvement, and learning environment development. These help to make better learning outcomes for the students. Moreover, the government’s educational loan project also gives poor students opportunities to study in universities, which is a really good way to enhance their quality of life.
Kam Sukhapan, the director of the Office of the Welfare Promotion Commission for Teachers and Education Personnel Phuket or OTEP Phuket, said the office has supported teachers and education personnel’s welfare by facilitating them in life insurance, hotel reservations during their trips to other provinces, and also helps them with their spouse’s or their own funeral. The office also helps to promote teachers with outstanding skills and takes care of them in their personal lives and any debt problems. The director would like the Ministry of Education to support the office more; then the office can look after more Phuket teachers and educational people who are also the main base of the nation’s development.
