On November 4th, at Phuket City Municipality Office, Niwit Aroonrat, a Vice Governor of Phuket, presided over the release of cleaning vehicles which would go to help people affected by floods in the southern part of Thailand. Chaiyapruk Panrerk, Deputy Mayor, Phuket City Municipality staff, and Phuket residents attended the event.
Chaiyapruk said that the depression of rain storms which hit the southern part of Thailand had caused floods in many provinces, especially Hat Yai District in Songkhla Province. Consequently, Phuket City Municipality, established the donation center on November 2nd to generate money and essential items to help people in the flood areas. Even though the floods had largely subsided, there were needs in cleaning up the area, so the municipality sent 11 cleaning vehicles with tools and 30 staff to help clean the flooded areas in Hat Yai.
