Many organizations in Phuket held Children’s Day events

phuketAs the second Saturday of January, Saturday January 8th this year is the national Children’s Day, so many organizations hosted events to entertain children on the day. Moreover the Prime Minister of Thailand, Abhisit Vejachiwa, also created the slogan for 2011 Children’s Day: ‘to be cautious, to think wisely, and to have public consciousness’.

In Phuket, many children went to join Children’s Day events held by private and government organizations. At Phuket Provincial Hall, the children could take a tour of the provincial hall and to the office of the Governor of Phuket. The Governor of Phuket also presented rewards to the outstanding children in Phuket. The City Municipality arranged its Children’s Day event in the area of Sapan Hin Park. Rassada Sub-district Municipality and Radio Thailand Phuket’s office hosted events in front of the municipality office. Other local administrative organizations also organized their events in the communities.

The Third Naval Area opened its area for children to visit. The children could see the exhibitions and visit the royal navy ship called ‘BangPaKong’, helicopters, and a live music show from Samkong Municipality School’s band. Moreover, there were demonstrations about assisting people in marine accidents, an airplane show, and lucky draws.

Other places holding events included Wachira Phuket Hospital, Bangkok Hospital Phuket, Phuket International Airport, Phuket Rajabhat University, Karon Beach by Karon Municipality, Laguna Phuket Group, Phuket Aquarium, City News, Pud Jor Shine, Jui Tui Shrine, etc.
