On June 8th, 2010, at the conference room of Phuket Provincial Hall, Teerayuth Aiumtrakul, a Vice Governor of Phuket, on the behalf of the president of Phuket’s Integrated Provincial Administration Committee presided over a meeting to update the result of projects concerned with 2009, 2010, and 2011 budget years and to estimate the expense in 2011 budget year. Those present at the meeting were Smith Palawatwichai – a Vice Governor of Phuket, and related government officials.
Teerayuth said that the province had aimed to make Phuket the world class center of marine tourism, with higher quality lifestyle of people, culture maintained and sustainable development. He added that four strategies were determined to make this come true including World Class Marine Tourism Center Strategy, Quality Lifestyle and Cultural Maintainance Strategy, Sustainable Development Strategy, and Excellent Administrative System Strategy.
He informed that there were 29 projects of the province in 2009 budget year concerning those strategies costing 174,398,200 baht. There were 63 such projects in 2010 budget year costing 326,398,825 baht; 26 of them had been approved first already with 145,152,500 baht of budget, 32 of them were approved second with 153,344,325 baht of budget and there were 5 projects that were not matched to the province’s strategies costing 27,902,000 baht.
In 2011, the 46 project proposed cost 296,002,325 baht. 21 of them were approved first with 116,457,425 baht of budget, 4 of them were approved second and cost 4,930,500 baht of budget. The rest of the 21 projects were not matched to the province’s policy costing 146,787,900 baht of budget.
