On March 2nd, 2010, at Patong Municipality, Teerayuth Aiumsakul, a Vice Governor of Phuket, and Pian Keesin, Patong Mayor, together presided over Patong Municipality’s operation report and public hearing. The event was well attended by government officers and Patong residents. Pian Keesin said that during the past six months all municipality staff have done many good jobs under the municipality’s policies. The important projects of the municipality are the construction of the 2nd early childhood center on Phra Baramee Rd. which will be finished in the middle of this year; Sai Nam Yen School education administration and new buildings construction which will be done in 3 years; traffic and parking problems solutions; and flood management during the rainy season.
In addition, the municipality plans to build a new stadium for Patong on the area of 21 rai near Tri Trang Beach and also follow up the possibility to build a tunnel connecting Patong and Kathu areas.
