Kathu Tin Mine Museum to be officially opened in March 2011

Kathu Tin Mine Museum On January 18th 2011, Tri Akaradecha, the Governor of Phuket visited the Kathu Tin Mine Museum to see if the museum was ready to be opened in March 2011, after Kathu Municipality had spent 130 million baht on renovating it.

The Governor said that the museums exhibitions about the Phuket Tin Mine and the miners’ way of life were interesting. The museum would get good feedback.

The location of the museum was not too far from other tourist attractions in Phuket. After visiting the museum; the tourists could continue their journey to beaches, hotels, or department stores. He added that the provincial government and Kathu Municipality would work together on promoting this museum to be another place that must be visited in Phuket.
